Version 1.2 — effective November 2, 2026
Operator: Matthew Hinkle, doing business as Cover My Shoot ("Cover My Shoot," "we," "us")
Contact: hello@covermyshoot.com
Cover My Shoot is an online platform where customers and independent professionals discover assignments, communicate, and connect — and independently decide whether to enter into an assignment agreement. Cover My Shoot does not employ, supervise, dispatch, or pay professionals. Customers and professionals negotiate their own terms and arrange payment directly. Cover My Shoot does not guarantee that an assignment will receive responses, that a professional will accept it, or that it will be completed.
Cover My Shoot is a job posting board and directory. It is not a booking marketplace, a payment-processing platform, an employer, a staffing or placement agency, a payroll provider, or a talent manager. Cover My Shoot does not assign or select professionals, and it does not guarantee coverage.
You must be 18 years or older to register, post, or respond. Cover My Shoot is an adults-only service.
You register with your name and email address. Signing in is passwordless: we email you a one-time code.
Register with an email address that is yours and able to receive mail — your sign-in codes and important account messages are delivered there. If the address you give appears to be undeliverable, your registration may be declined and no account will be created; check the address and try again. To protect the service and its members, we may decline a registration, or remove a registration made with false or undeliverable information.
An account has one or both of two roles: professional (you offer services in one of the four categories — Photographers, Models, Stylists, Videographers) and customer (you post opportunities and engage professionals). You choose your roles when you register and can hold both.
One account per person or business. You may not register under another person's identity, create an account for someone else, or rejoin under a new identity after removal.
You are responsible for activity on your account. Tell us promptly at hello@covermyshoot.com if you believe your account has been used by someone else.
The first 500 lifetime-free basic memberships are reserved for qualifying creative professionals only. A qualifying professional is a registered account with at least one professional role selected. Customer-only and employer-only accounts do not qualify and do not count toward the 500. An account with both a professional role and a customer/employer role counts once, as a qualifying professional. Qualifying founder accounts are never charged for basic membership — not now, not ever — if and when paid memberships are ever activated. Eligibility is recorded in the founder registry maintained by Cover My Shoot.
Posting. A customer publishes an opportunity. Every listing must be complete — including the rate and the pay date, stated up front — and must comply with the Job Posting Rules and Acceptable Use Policy. Listings are reviewed by the operator before they appear.
Responding. Professionals browse and respond voluntarily to the opportunities they choose. Responding is never mandatory, and declining or ignoring an opportunity carries no penalty.
Selecting. The customer reviews responses, communicates directly with professionals, and selects. Cover My Shoot never selects for the customer and never binds the first responder.
Arranging the engagement. The customer and the professional arrange the work, the terms, and the payment between themselves. An optional written agreement tool is provided; using it is the parties' choice and is never a condition of registering, browsing, responding, contacting, or engaging.
Venue details. Public listings show a general location only. Precise venue details are shared by the customer directly with the professional they select, when the customer is ready. Venue details are never published on the board.
Customers pay professionals directly. Cover My Shoot never receives, holds, forwards, or distributes assignment pay, and takes no commission or percentage of it. The platform does not guarantee that any customer will pay or that any professional will be paid; payment obligations exist between the customer and the professional under their own arrangement. Professionals are responsible for their own taxes on income they earn (see Section 12).
Paid memberships and billing are not currently available.
For professionals, Basic Professional Membership is free — for every professional, always. Professional Plus, an optional upgrade at $5.00/month, is not available today and is never required: not for founding status, and not for basic features. For customers, the membership options are Basic at $4/month or $40/year, and Premium at $8/month or $80/year. Membership pricing is displayed for informational purposes. Paid membership billing is not currently available. Subscription checkout will open only after the business model and fee structure have been reviewed by Maryland legal counsel.
If paid memberships are ever activated, they will be governed by the Membership, Billing and Refund Policy in effect at that time, and no one will be charged without clear disclosure and affirmative consent at activation.
You keep ownership of the content you provide — your profile information, portfolio material, listings, messages, and other submissions ("Your Content").
You grant Cover My Shoot a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, and display Your Content solely as needed to operate and present the service (for example, showing your profile in the directory and your listing on the board). This license ends when you delete the content or close your account, except for copies retained under the Privacy Policy and legal record-keeping described there.
You may only post content you own or have the right to use, and content that is accurate and lawful. Portfolio rules are in the Copyright and DMCA Policy.
The license above is not permission for any user to use another user's likeness, images, or work in their own advertising or projects. Use of another person's work requires that person's own agreement.
Profiles may show factual labels such as "Email confirmed," "Identity check completed," "Portfolio supplied," and "References checked." A label appears only when that exact check has actually been performed, and it states only what was checked.
A profile with no completed assignments is marked "New member — no completed assignments recorded."
Labels are not endorsements, certifications, rankings, or guarantees of character, ability, or future performance. Cover My Shoot does not run criminal background checks, and no label, page, or message from Cover My Shoot claims or implies one.
Insurance information, if a professional supplies a certificate, is recorded internally only. It is never displayed publicly, and Cover My Shoot does not represent that any professional is or is not insured. Insurance is a matter between the customer and the professional.
Profiles may display factual records drawn only from completed assignments transacted through the service (for example, assignments completed and outcomes confirmed by both sides). Records cannot be bought, imported, or self-reported. Cover My Shoot publishes no star ratings, subjective rankings, or performance scores.
Your use of the service must comply with the Job Posting Rules and Acceptable Use Policy and the Safety and Disclaimer Policy, which are part of these Terms. In summary: no fraudulent or misleading postings; no assignments involving minors (see Section 11); no adult or sexually explicit assignments; no harassment, discrimination, or exploitation; no posting of work you do not own or may not use; no collecting other users' contact details for unrelated purposes.
Prohibited postings and removal. Some postings can't run on Cover My Shoot:
A posting that falls squarely within one of these categories may be removed automatically. If that happens, you will be told which rule applies, and nothing about a single removal affects your account. If you think a removal was a mistake, email hello@covermyshoot.com and a person will look at it.
A posting that may touch on one of these areas without clearly falling within it is not removed automatically — it is held for review by the operator, who decides whether it can run.
If a member's postings are removed repeatedly, the operator may review the account, and any action on the account itself is taken only through the process in Section 14.
Cover My Shoot does not accept or facilitate assignments involving minors — at all. This covers children's sessions, school photography, school and youth events, sports involving minors, and any event where someone under 18 will be present, including weddings with under-18 guests. Listings require the poster to confirm that no minors will be present. If minors are discovered at an assignment, the professional may withdraw immediately with no penalty or negative record; the poster is in breach of these Terms, and repeat violations end posting privileges and the account.
Professionals using Cover My Shoot operate independently and are responsible for their own businesses: reporting their income, paying applicable income and self-employment taxes, making estimated payments when required, keeping their own records, and holding any licenses their work requires. Cover My Shoot withholds nothing from assignment payments, because it never touches assignment pay. Nothing in these Terms determines any person's employment or tax classification; classification is determined by applicable law and the actual working relationship.
Cover My Shoot operates in writing. No telephone call is required — or offered as a required step — for registration, sign-in, account recovery, posting, responding, support, reporting, or cancellation. The service collects no phone numbers for these processes. Support is provided by email at hello@covermyshoot.com and through website forms.
We may warn, restrict features, suspend, or terminate an account for violations of these Terms or the related policies — including fraud, misrepresentation, posting prohibited assignments, harassment, substantiated nonpayment of a professional engaged through the service, or repeated scope violations.
Serious violations (for example fraud, stolen work, or safety violations) may result in immediate termination.
Incident handling follows a documented process with statuses (Open, Under Review, Awaiting Response, Resolved, Appealed, Closed). Before a final adverse determination, the affected user will be told the basis and given a chance to respond, and may appeal by writing to hello@covermyshoot.com. Incident and assignment history is append-only: corrections are added as new entries, never silent edits.
You may close your account at any time by writing to hello@covermyshoot.com. Closing your account does not undo agreements you have already made directly with another user.
A person removed for a violation may not rejoin under a new identity.
Cover My Shoot does not guarantee employment, work, responses, income, payment, availability of any professional or opportunity, completion of any assignment, or the quality of any user's work or conduct. Listings are supplied by posters; profiles are supplied by professionals. We make the introduction — and get out of the way.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot lawfully be limited, including under Maryland consumer-protection law.
To the fullest extent permitted by Maryland law, Cover My Shoot's aggregate liability to a user is capped at the total fees that user has paid to Cover My Shoot (which, while billing is disabled, is zero). Cover My Shoot is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, in each case only to the extent Maryland law permits. This section does not limit liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including liability for gross negligence or intentional misconduct.
Each user agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Cover My Shoot against third-party claims, costs, and reasonable legal fees arising from that user's own postings, work, conduct, or engagements — the poster for their event and the professionals they engage, the professional for their own performance and conduct.
Between users. Disputes between a customer and a professional about an engagement are between those parties. Cover My Shoot operates a complaint and incident process (Section 14) and keeps records, but it is not a party to the engagement and does not adjudicate who is owed money.
With Cover My Shoot. Please write to us first at hello@covermyshoot.com; most problems can be resolved in writing. These Terms, and any dispute with Cover My Shoot, are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland.
If these Terms change, the new version will be posted on the website with a new version number and effective date. Material changes will be announced to account holders by email before they take effect.
