Finding and choosing your professional

There are two ways in, and most customers use both.

Browse the directory. At covermyshoot.com/professionals you'll find the professionals on Cover My Shoot — photographers, models, stylists and videographers — with their profiles, their work, their service areas and the specialties they list. Professionals appear in the directory once they've created and saved a profile. Nothing in the directory is ranked by payment: nobody can pay to appear above anyone else — listings are alphabetical, and profiles show factual records from completed assignments, not star ratings.

Or post the assignment and let them come to you. Post what you need (see "How to post an assignment"), and once your brief is approved, professionals who fit the job can respond voluntarily. If you post from a free account, you review the professionals who respond — their profiles and their work — and you choose whom to contact. Posting from an account is how you see responses, make your selection, and message your professional on the site. If you post without an account, we look after your brief by email instead. Either way: Cover My Shoot does not select, assign or recommend a professional for you; the choice is yours, and there's no obligation to hire anyone who responds. Responses aren't guaranteed — professionals respond to the assignments that fit them.

Everything is in writing. Once a professional has responded to your assignment, you and they can message each other through the platform's written messaging — no phone tag, and the details you agreed (the job, the rate, the pay date, the deliverables) are there in the conversation to refer back to. (Messaging works between accounts, which is one more reason posting from a free account is the smoothest path.) The exact venue address is never posted publicly — you share it directly with the professional you select, when you're ready.

Claim your listing

Posted without an account? You can claim your listing into a free Cover My Shoot account. Go to covermyshoot.com/claim and enter the email address you posted with. We send a one-time code to that email — the same security standard as signing in. Enter the code, and the listing is linked to your account.

From then on, your listing works exactly like one posted with an account from the start: professionals' responses appear in your dashboard, you choose the professional you want, and you message each other in writing inside Cover My Shoot. One listing can be claimed only by its own poster — the code sent to the posting email address is what proves it's yours.

Claiming is free, and so is the account. Claiming does not change the review step: every listing is reviewed by a real person before it appears on the Project Opportunities board, whether it is claimed or not, and claiming never skips that review. Claiming also does not guarantee responses — professionals browse the board and respond to the listings that fit them.
