The site knows you now — and a look at where we're headed

By Matt Hinkle — Founder, Cover My Shoot · November 4, 2026

The Maryland Theatre in Hagerstown, Maryland

Tonight we shipped a stack of fixes that came straight from using the site the way you do:

  • Signed in means signed in. Every page now says so — look for My Profile at the top. The homepage opens with your home base: your messages, your saved people, your next step.
  • No more Join pitches for members. If you're already in, the site stops trying to recruit you — those spots now say Send to a friend. Wander into the Join or Sign in page while signed in and we'll politely walk you back to your dashboard.
  • Sign-in got easier. The site remembers your email, the code page is one clean step, and www finally redirects to the one true address.
  • Room to breathe. Profile photos now go up to 25 MB (yes, the 5 MB limit was ridiculous — photographers, of all people), bios doubled, messages fit a real call sheet, and you can show six sample links.
  • Mail, rebuilt. Sign-in codes and notifications now run on delivery rails we control end to end — faster, and no more codes lost in the void.

Where we're headed next, in the open: the directory is fast now (fourteen seconds became half a second this morning — go feel it), profiles become proper business cards with a Cover Shoot Ready mark for completed ones, and then the big build — a real community: a forum, groups, member messaging, classes on a calendar. Find your community, find your business, find your next photography event — one place. That's the whole idea, and we'll keep posting these notes as it lands.
